Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and oversight of all engineering design activities for the Brookville location.
Responsibilities include new model development as well as current product design.
Technical Skill Requirements:
1.
BS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant professional experience 2.
8 or more years professional experience in an engineering or design assignment 3.
3 - 6 months of professional experience in CAD design 4.
Knowledge and understanding of tooling and machinery in the production department 5.
Excellent understanding of geometric concepts and figures with ability to visualize in 3-D views 6.
Excellent computer/PC skills 7.
Excellent communications skills 8.
Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy Performance Skill Requirements:

Check drawings a.
Review design work of design engineers b.
Design parts, as required c.
Update documentation, as required 2.
Conduct meetings a.
Meet with customers to review designs and specifications b.
Meet with tooling shops to fabricate tools and equipment c.
Communicate information to internal and external customers d.
Customer site visits e.
Attend design review meetings f.
Set up of trial parts Other Duties and Responsibilities 1.

Develop and evaluate subordinates Supervisory Responsibilities This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for the following positions:
design engineer and assistant design manager.
Duties include planning work for subordinates, observing performance, appraising, developing, coaching and holding subordinates accountable for results.
Job Complexity Work requires a high level of judgment, analytic ability and creativity, such as investigating moderately complex problems or situation, analyzing information and recommending solutions Supervision Received Receives only policy direction; employee sets virtually all goals and direction and is guided solely by organizational policy Frequency of Independent Judgment Exercised Regularly Position's Type of Job Tasks Performs complex tasks requiring extensive knowledge of department's work Environment and Conditions The incumbent spends approximately 15-50% of his/her time developing and maintaining business contacts within the organization and up to 15% of his/her time with external contacts.
The purpose of these contacts is to discuss designs with sales, identify tooling needs, review design parameters and specifications and to discuss timing of projects.
This position works in an open office environment.
Exposure to weather elements is not likely.
Incumbents are not likely to drive a vehicle while performing job responsibilities.
Incumbents spend approximately 85% sitting, 10% standing and 5% walking in the course of this position and are unlikely to lift anything greater than 10 pounds.
Incumbents will use the following office machines while performing job duties:
computer, printer, copier, fax, telephone and calculator.
Also uses Microsoft Office and CAD software.
